How To Set Your Home Listing Apart From Others

Posted on: 9 January 2019

If you are planning on putting your home on the market and are worried about your home listing not being seen, or worried that your home isn't going to sell, there are things you can do to set your home apart from others. You want your home listing to stand out among the others and for your home to be seen. Read on for tips to help make your listing stand out, for your home to be seen and to sell quickly.

Take Professional Photos

The photos of your home are what people are going to look at most. If the photos don't show your home in a good light or don't make your home look very appealing, your listing isn't going to bring in potential buyers to your home. If your photos look good, it'll attract those buyers to take a closer look to your home. Hire a professional to take your pictures for you. The extra cost of the photos is going to be worth it if they attract more potential buyers to your home.

Clean Your Home's Interior Thoroughly

Nobody wants to see clothes sitting in a pile in your bedroom in your listing photos, or dishes in the sink, or a cluttered home. Clean your home thoroughly and put everything away. Your home should look well-kept and clutter-free. Beds should all be made, and dressers should be clutter-free. Remove as much from the floors as possible so you can see the room better.

Clean The Exterior Of Your Home

The exterior of your home should also be cleaned before your listing photos are taken. Nobody wants to see listing photos of homes with overgrown trees, overgrown bushes, or landscaping beds that look as if they haven't been touched in years. Clean porches, concrete/asphalt areas, and siding, and clean up all landscaping around your home. Be sure your yard is raked and lawn is mowed as well. If you have broken shutters or cracks in your siding, make the repairs as needed. Make other repairs to the exterior of your home as well.

Take Out All Excess

Remove all of the excess from your home. If you have excess furniture in your home, it can make your home appear smaller. Remove excess furniture or accent pieces from your home. Remove items from the walls, and take out personal items from your home, such as family photos and collections.

Setting your listing apart from other listings can be done, and it starts with your listing photos. Talk to your real estate agent about other things you can do to help your listing attract potential buyers and sell your home quickly.
